A Day in the Life of a Homeless Man
I wake up in a crowded barracks full of noise and dirt
To hear the blaring sounds of boom boxes and
radio preachers shouting
How they can save our souls from damnation
But not from the hatred of mankind.
All hope has died, and now I wait for nothing
And spend each day trying to pretend that life
Has something to offer and tomorrow will be better
When all I have to wait for is to die
And when someone will find me, it won't matter
Because everything would have been wonderful
Had I just gotten a job, so they told me
With hate and contempt brimming in their eyes.
